The Cubs are a charter member of the National League since 1971 and have won the World Championship twice, in 1907 and 1908. While they have not won the World Championship for the last hundred years but they have played in it and lost 7 times in that span. In thier history, they have won the pennant 15 times: 1876, 1880, 1881, 1882, 1885, 1886, 1906, 1907, 1908, 1910, 1918, 1929, 1932, 1935, 1938, 1945.
